Huia Chardonnay 2007 89 Points Strong citrus/grapefruit flavours seasoned with classy oak that sits well with the mix of fruit and mealy yeast lees characters. The wine has a pleasing soft texture and good acidity. Stylish Chardonnay that's typical of Marlborough. http://www.bobswinereviews.com

2004 Huia Chardonnay, Marlborough 89 Points 4 stars Soft-textured, gentle chardonnay with good length and complexity. Nice nutty lees and subtle oak flatter the citrus flavours of this very elegant chardonnay. I'm impressed by the balance of sweetness with acidity and the winemaker influence with fruit flavour.

Huia Marlborough 2002 Chardonnay The stylish 2002 vintage(4 stars)was hand-harvested in the Huia and Taylor vineyards, whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak casks. Creamy and smooth, with ripe-grapefruit flavours, delicately seasoned with oak, it shows excellent weight, roundness, complexity and depth, with a tight finish. It's drinking well now, but should mature gracefully.

Huia Marlborough Chardonnay
The Elegant 2001(4 stars) was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for 15 months, with weekly lees-stirring, in French oak barriques and puncheons; 60%of the blend went through malolactic fermentation. Still fresh and youthful, with a light lemon/green hue, it's tightly structured wine with crisp, strong grapefruit and apple flavours, subtle biscuity oak, good harmony and a dry finish.

Huia Chardonnay 2000 - Strong, intense, serious, unfolding slowly; perhaps a little softer and more elegant than the 1999 but the same tone is here, unfolding classical Chardonnay as per the notes above on the clone, best 2003-05
