Huia Marlborough Pinot Noir 2005 Smells of rhubarb with a hint of coffee and toast. A ripe, but not over the top, intensely sweet cherry palate with an excellent savoury edge. Very European.
Huia Pinot Noir 2005 Marlborough-5 stars Huia's best Pinot yet; very distinct and fine in character(violet, raspberry, plum, cherry) full bodied, supple in texture, and elegant and long on the palate, with a persistent finish. Fine value.
94 Points Huia, Marlborough( New Zealand) Pinot Noir 2004 Claire & Mike Allan are among the most consistent winemakers in the Marlborough region and this juicy pinot is no exception. The color is deep and rich with brilliant ruby hues, while the forward black fruit aroma has hints of boiled black tea. Bright and silky flavors are rich and textured, supported by firm refined tannins. The wine finishes with ample fruit and good lenght.

Huia 2005 Pinot Noir Sweet red cherry flavours balanced by ripe tannins and good acidity to give a pleasantly drying finish. Texbook Pinot Noir in a very appealing supple style.
Huia Pinot Noir 2005 Team comments: Applealing pinky purple colour. Still very youthful with lots of aromatic blackberry and strawberry aromas. Juicy and silky with real fruit sweetness. Not a big bold wine but a charming sweetly fruited one.

2003 Huia Pinot Noir, Marlborough Leans toward a feminin style, with complex, mysterious aromas of herbs, smoke and flowers that lead into a superbly textured mid-palate-like crushed silk. Lovely floral and cherry notes linger on the finish.
2003 Huia Pinot Noir, Marlborough Supple, moderately rich in flavor and well balanced; a Pinot Noir with kola nut, spearmint, vanilla and plum aromas/flavors, and a long finish ( 2006-2007).
2002 Huia Pinot Noir, Marlborough Stylish medium weight wine with racy cherry-plum and underbrush notes, traces of nutmeg and clove, and a deep, complex finish. Try with rare roast beef. Another fine New Zealand Pinot
Huia Marlborough 2002 Pinot Noir The elegant 2002 vintage(4stars) was grown in four vineyards, from Rapaura, on the north side of the Wairau Valley, to the Brancott Valley in the south, and French oak-aged for a year. Fragant and supple, with ripe-cherry and plum flavours showing some savoury complexity, it's a full-bodied, harmonious, finely textured wine, maturing well.
"Things get a bit more serious here. The color is a bit garnet with a slight salmon-pink rim. The nose gets a bit more intense with red currants and plums, wet black earth and a smoldering cigar. In the mouth, there is filling sensation that is stripped away by moderate tannins, and then brusque tannins. It finally has a finish worth speaking of that fades away with myriad of red fruit flavors leaving the taster wishing for more."
Huia 2002 Pinot Noir, Marlborough Best Pinot yet from Huia. It is deeply colored, full bodied, crisp, and long on the finish, with aromas/flavors of dried cherry, vanilla, plum, clove, and tobacco. 2,400 cases. [2004-2006]
The 2001 vintage is a blend of eight clones grown in four different vineyards, matured for 15 months in new and one-year-old French oak puncheons. Ruby-hued, full bodied and supple, with warm berry/plum characters, some gamey, earthy elements and silky tannins, it is currently drinking very well.
Huia 2001 Pinot Noir, Marlborough Grape garnet color of good depth and intensity. Intriguing aroma of bread, cherry, herbs and oil. Ripe strawberry and cherry fruit, earthy notes and a long savory finish.

Huia 2000 Pinot Noir, Marlborough - "Raspberry, spices and pungent notes of minerals and powdered stone on the nose. Offers enticing sweetness and palate presence, with nicely intense red fruit and spicy oak flavors enlivened by firm-edged acids. Tannins are light, but this pinot has good backbone and grip."

Huia 2000 Pinot Noir, Marlborough Fresh and lively, with pretty cherry and spice flavors that wrap around a core of fine-grained tannins and echo nicely on the finish. Drink now through 2006.
Huia 2000 Pinot Noir, Marlborough Moderate plummy purple. Extremely vivid nose: plums, vanilla, spice, mint, tar, game, (the wine was pulled together from 8 different clones of Pinot). Gorgeous mixture of New World and Old World Pinot elements. Light to medium weight, but gushing with flavor. Quite dry, great acid, merest touch of astringency in finish.
Huia Pinot Noir 2000 Grand young wine: dark coloured, intense and with lots to say:just rousing from a sleep which should go on for another year. This is a beautiful young Pinot, needing space and time to unfold with all the potential of top flight New Zealand statement. Start late 2002 into 2005.
