05/11/11 Huia Blanc de Blancs 2005 - 5 stars Still youthful, this refined Marlborough sparkling is all Chardonnay. The palate is very vivacious and crisp, with lovely intensity and delicacy and a lingering, dryish, yeasty, nutty finish. |

Huia Blanc de Blancs 2004 - 4 stars
100% Chardonnay fermented and aged in old oak barriques and bottled after full malolatic fermentation. The wine was en tirage for three and half years before being hand riddled and disgorged. Strongly yeasty, developed wine suggesting it might have been recently disgorged. An intense, bready sparkler with surprising weight and power. A lot of yeast autolysis is evident although primary fruit flavours of peach, apple, and citrus are also quite pronounced.
