Huia Gewurztraminer

Pure concentrate of rose petals and carnations with a hint of gardenia...the wine is so superb you should invent ways to serve it! Actually tastes better when it's very well chilled.

94/100 & 5 Stars

Delicious gewurz with a flavour profile and texture thst suggests Alsace rather than Marlborough. Turkish delight and anise-spice flavours with a super-delicate and creamy texture. Great length without hardness or astringency.

Celebrating Summer
Huia Marlborough Brut 2002
For Toasting special occasion or just to celebrate summer itself, a good bottle of bubbly's the biz. Finesse and richness flow through Huia's vintage sparkler with its notes of Danish pastry, crisp apple and yeasty complexity tempered by a brisk note of citrus. Cheers!

2000 Huia Brut, Marlborough
"Claire and Mike Allan's winery isn't one of the best known names in Marlborough, but since they set up Huia Vineyards in 1996, they've quietly been making some of the best wines in the region. My favourites in the range have tended to be the aromatic whites-the Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris are very good- but this fizz could have me altering that opinion. Roughly half Chardonnay, with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier making up the balance, it is rich yet subtel, with smoky intensity, yeasty complexity, hints of dark chocolate, pineapple and toasted nuts, and beautiful balanced finish" 92/100
